I would recommend ‘Unchained’ by Van Halen. The reason for my recommendation? It is simply awesome and an overlooked song for training.

I would also recommend ‘Master of Puppets’ by Metallica as it gets the blood pumping.

‘Till I Collapse’ by Eminem is a particular favourite of mine, especially when on my heavier sets. Otherwise, anything with a good beat is fine with me. I mainly use music to drown out sound distractions rather than actively listen to it while I train. When doing cardio, depending on the exercise, I like a podcast or YouTube video.

I love this song for lifting heavy weights. It’s got a slow build-up which helps when you’re setting up for your set. When the beat drops it’s very bassy, which I love, because studies have found that bassy music makes listeners feel more powerful.

‘Stronger’ – Kayne West

Who doesn’t love a bit of Kayne? This song is just motivational and will keep anyone going during their workout!
